+ Where do you hold the camps?
The camps are held in a location of your choosing. You select the town or city and we find, select (with your approval) and contract with the hotel. All of the legwork is done by the Instructional Access, Inc. staff.

+ How many students can go?
Camp minimums have been established as low as 20 with the maximum size of 30. Typical camp size is 24. More than 30 students can be served at the same time by holding two classes at the same hotel.

+ Are meals included?
We include a total of six meals in the program: dinner the first night; breakfast, lunch and dinner the second day; breakfast and lunch the third day.

+ Is there a cost for my chaperones?
For a camp of 24 students two chaperones are included in the price. Additional chaperones may attend for an additional cost.

+ When does the camp start?
Typically the camp begins on a Friday afternoon. Students arrive at the hotel around 3:00pm, get checked into their rooms and instruction begins at 4:30pm.

+ Do the students get new or used equipment?
Instructional Access, Inc. provides new, state of the art computers from top tier manufacturers such as Gateway, IBM and HP.

+ What kind of warranty comes with the equipment?
All equipment comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of not less than one year.

+ How long does the camp last?
The camp usually begins on a Friday afternoon and ends on a Sunday afternoon. Students spend 2 ½ days at the camp.

+ What do I receive as an agency?
At the conclusion of the camp, Instructional Access, Inc. sends you follow-up materials including pre and post test results, survey results and a CD of student projects created during the camp.

+ How far in advance do I have to book a camp?
Typically we need six to eight weeks to make all of the arrangements with the hotel and computer and software vendors. However in some cases we have been able to get everything done in as little as four weeks.

+ How many staff members are at the camp?
Instructional Access, Inc. always provides at least two staff members.

+ I want my kids’ hotel rooms segregated by male and female, can you do this?
Instructional Access, Inc. works with the hotel to insure that the maximum amount of segregation of female and male students is accomplished.

+ At the end of the camp, how do the students get their computers?
Because the students will be taking home the computers they are using during the camp, we show them how to properly pack their computers and they take them home with them at the end of the camp.

+ What kind of curriculum do you teach?
We teach basic computer operation, software loading, and many skills in MS Windows®, MS Word®, MS Excel® and MS PowerPoint® in a way that engages the student and makes it relevant to their educational/career situation.

+ I want to hold the camp at my facility. Can I do this?
Yes. There are special issues that need to be handled so each situation is different. Call us for the details and we will tailor a program to suit your needs.

+ I don’t have enough students to hold a camp. What else can I do?
If you have other agencies in your area that have students to serve you can pool your groups together and hold a “Consortium Camp”. Participating agencies would decide on a mutually accessible location and date. We would do the rest. Each agency would be charged only for the number of students they send.

+ What else do I have to do besides give you the names of the students?
All you need to do is: (1) provide a location (city or area of town), (2) identify the funding stream, (3) provide the students and chaperones, and (4) provide transportation for the group activity (if applicable). We will take care of everything else.

+ Does the Weekend Computer Camp have to be held over a weekend?
No. During times such as summer break, spring break, etc. we can hold mid-week computer camps.

The Weekend Computer Camp can be held over two days, however the curriculum may have to be modified.

+ Are the computers set-up for the students prior to the camp beginning? Is the software already loaded on the computers?
No. Part of the training we provide is teaching the students how to set-up and tear-down their own computer system and load their own software.

+ Do the students receive anything at the end of the training stating that they have completed this training?
Yes. They will receive a certificate of completion for the course.

Yes. We have had several chaperones bring their own laptop and follow along with the training.
